Every court we construct starts with a full site assessment: soil conditions, existing drainage, access, levels and orientation. From there we set out the court, excavate and shape the platform, install sub-surface drainage where required, then compact and prove each layer before the next goes down.
The base is where courts are won or lost. We build a compacted engineered sub-base, followed by a bound base layer laid to precise falls so water sheets off the surface instead of ponding on it. Only once the base has cured and been tested do we apply the acrylic system, colour coats and championship line marking.
The result is a court with true, consistent ball bounce, no soft spots, no birdbaths after rain, and a surface that will take resurfacing cycles for decades rather than needing to be rebuilt.

Speak to someone who actually builds courts.
A single standard court typically takes four to eight weeks from site establishment to handover, depending on ground conditions, drainage requirements and weather. Base layers need proper curing time — we do not rush that stage, because it determines how long the finished court lasts.
A full-size singles/doubles court with proper run-off is 36.6 m x 18.3 m. Where space is tight we can design a reduced run-off court or a multi-purpose court to suit the site. We confirm exact dimensions during the free site inspection.
For the South African climate we most often recommend a cushioned or standard acrylic hard court. It is low maintenance, plays consistently, handles our UV levels well and can be resurfaced rather than replaced. We will talk you through the options on site.
Yes. Excavation, levelling, sub-surface drainage, retaining where needed, the base build and the surfacing are all done by our own team, so accountability for the finished court sits in one place.
Yes. Sloped and uneven sites are common and are handled with cut-and-fill, retaining structures and engineered platforms. It affects cost and programme, which is why the site inspection happens before any quote is issued.
