About Us

A specialist court contractor, not a general builder.

Our story

Built on bases, not on promises

Ramzey GLM Tennis Court Maintenance (Pty) Ltd was founded on a simple frustration: too many South African courts were being built and coated by contractors who understood paint but not ground.

We had seen it too many times — a beautiful new court handed over in perfect condition, cracked within two summers because the base was never engineered, the falls were never set properly, and the water had nowhere to go. The client pays twice: once for the court, and again for the rebuild.

So we built a company that works the other way around. Ground conditions first. Drainage second. Levels and falls third. Only then the surface system, the colour and the line marking that everybody actually sees. It is slower to quote and harder to sell than a low number on a page — and it is the reason our courts are still true a decade later.

Today we construct, resurface, repair and maintain tennis courts, netball and basketball courts, multi-purpose sports surfaces and full court complexes for private homes, residential estates, schools, sports clubs, corporates and municipalities across Gauteng & surrounding provinces.

Mission & vision

What we are here to do

Two statements that decide what we take on, how we quote it and how we finish it.

Our Mission

To build and maintain sports court surfaces that outlast expectations — engineered properly beneath, finished beautifully above, and backed by a contractor who is still contactable years after handover.

  • Specify honestly, quote transparently, build correctly
  • Never hide a base problem beneath a colour coat
  • Leave every site cleaner than we found it

Our Vision

To be the sports-surface contractor that South African estates, schools and clubs recommend without hesitation — known less for what we say about our work than for how our courts look in year ten.

  • Raise the construction standard in our industry
  • Make quality courts accessible to schools and communities
  • Grow through referrals, not advertising
Core values

The values that decide how we work

Four principles that shape every quotation we issue and every court we hand over.

Integrity

If a repair will not solve the problem, we say so. If resurfacing is better value than rebuilding, we tell you that too — even when it is the smaller job.

Craftsmanship

Straight lines, true falls, even colour, clean edges. The details nobody specifies are the ones that separate a good court from an excellent one.

Reliability

Agreed dates, agreed scope, agreed price. We turn up when we say we will and we finish what we start.

Partnership

Most of our work comes from repeat clients and referrals. We build courts expecting to still be looking after them in ten years.

Why choose us

Why clients choose Ramzey GLM

Six things that consistently come up when clients tell us why they picked us — and why they call us back.

Specialists, not generalists

Sports court surfaces are all we do. No paving sidelines, no general construction — just courts, every day.

Engineering before aesthetics

Bases, falls and drainage are specified first. The beautiful colour coat is the last decision, not the first.

Our own supervised teams

The people on your site are our people. Consistent standards, consistent faces, accountable work.

Quotations you can actually read

Itemised scope, materials and programme in writing, so you can compare quotes on substance rather than on a single number.

Clean, respectful sites

Estates, schools and clubs are live environments. We work around them, and we leave the site tidy every single day.

We stay available after handover

Guaranteed workmanship, honest maintenance advice, and a contractor who still answers the phone in year five.

Our process

From first phone call to first serve

A transparent five-stage process. You always know what is happening on your site, what happens next and what it costs.

1

Consultation

We listen first — what the court is for, who plays on it, what the budget needs to do and when you need it finished.

2

Site Inspection

A free on-site assessment of levels, ground conditions, drainage, access and orientation. This is what makes a quote accurate.

3

Design & Quotation

Court layout, surface system, colours, fencing and lighting specified, then a written, itemised quotation with no obligation.

4

Construction

Programmed, supervised and executed by our own team, with a clean site, clear communication and no unexplained delays.

5

Completion & Handover

Final inspection, line marking, clean-up, care guidance and your maintenance schedule. Then we stay available.
